For a little while now I’ve been working on a new video training series for Flash mobile developers, and I’m happy to announce that we’re ready to go with the first episode.
The “Developing with Flash Lite” series covers broad concepts as well as specific how-to code samples and demos, with topics covering beginner, intermediate, experienced and “multi-screen” topics. Some of the topics of upcoming videos include:
- Managing screens in mobile applications
- Creating Flash mobile content for touch-screen devices
- Writing Test Scripts in Device Central CS4
- Hooking up applications to external data
- Packaging and distribution
- Working with multiple resolutions and orientation
- Moving from mobile, to desktop and TV with Flash
- and many more …
The series has been developed for delivery through Adobe TV and the Mobile and Devices Developer Center, however we’re also loading them up on to Vimeo for further reach (episodes run longer than YouTube’s 10min limit, so they won’t be up there in case you’re wondering). We have around 20 videos planned, with the potential for expansion, so it should hopefully be a great collection of resources for the Flash mobile community.
The first video we have released is “Mobile Workflow in Adobe CS4“ – an introduction for non-mobile developers and designers to the workflow through the Adobe CS4 tools when working with mobile content. Please keep in touch with new videos coming out by:
- subscribing to the Adobe Flash Lite Vimeo RSS feed
- becoming a Contact for Adobe Flash Lite on Vimeo
- subscribing to the general Flash Lite Developer Center RSS feed and visiting the Dev Center
- or following @flashmobile on Twitter
I’m looking forward to rolling these out in the coming months and getting valuable feedback from you guys in the community.
